Green Energy

Green Energy

Capability Gap:

There is no existing portable, rapid, low-maintenance and low-cost renewable energy source

The Solution:

A standard pontoon boat tethered to the bank of a river that expands to accommodate two light-weight turbines connected to an electrical generator and linked to a microgrid on the river’s bank. This can generate 80-100 kilowatts of continuous electrical power per turbine. It works in both low (2-4mph) and medium flow (5mph) rivers and should generate enough electricity to power over 200 US homes. It’s portable, requires almost no maintenance in the first 10 years, and they can be linked in multiples along the same river to power whole neighborhoods or towns.
